X-Board Kraft is approved by 3M for use with their self-adhesive Di-Noc decorative PVC films. |
X-Board Kraft (XBK) is a versatile, lightweight board, which offers designers and manufacturers a VOC-Free alternative to MDF, particle board and petrochemical-based foamed-core boards, cork boards etc.
X-Board's unique high-crush strength kraft fibre core is manufactured from post-consumer recycled kraft paper and sugar cane bagasse waste. Sandwiched between top and bottom layers of semi-rigid kraft paper X-Board is best disposed of in paper-recycling bins after use.
Panels can be mitre-cut, folded or curved, shape cut , canvas or fabric-wrapped, photo-mounted and fastened together with velcro, hot-melt adhesive or magnetic strips, generating an endless array of design possibilities.
For production runs, X-Board is best cut using a CNC router or flatbed digital cutting table with oscillating knife. For simple straight-cutting for low volume hobby, DIY or set-building use, a heavy duty Stanley-type knife, panel saw, jigsaw or vertical foam trimmer may be used.
If one needs to hide the boards exposed kraft edges, X-Board can be double-mitre cut and folded back on itself, or one can easily apply a PVC C-channel edging with hot-melt glue gun which can be removed before recycling the board after its useful life.
Typical applications for X-Board include:
