Falcon Shopfitters in Johannesburg recently produced 450 louvres for installation at a Sun International Casino on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile, using Xanita’s X-Board Plus.

The louvres were installed into four large canopy areas in the casino, suspended from a concrete slab. Due to the use of X-Board Plus instead of solid timber, the reduction in weight was such that each canopy was lighter by more than one ton each, offering significant savings to the client at the point of installation.

Keith Davidson, of Falcon Shopfitters, was extremely pleased with the end result, remarking that: “The strength and rigidity of the XB+ panels meant we could reduce weight without any compromise on the structural integrity of the frames. This is definitely the way this kind of work will be done in future.”
