Environmentally-friendly flat-branding applications

Mondi Xtreme (MX) is a new generation, flexible fibre board made from post-consumer recycled paper waste. A truly state-of-the-art material, MX exhibits excellent water and moisture hold-out capabilities for both internal and external branding applications. It’s designed to replace polymer based (plastic) substrates commonly used in the short-term outdoor signage, event and display industries.

No wax or polyethylene is used in Mondi Xtreme’s manufacturing process, yet it still lasts months outdoors with no water ingress, thanks to a proprietary new barrier coating technology.

MX is available in 1100gsm/1440 micron sheets.  

Sheets are brown one side with a white printable liner on the reverse side. For graphics requiring white on both sides, please refer to Mondi Indoor grade board.

MX has good lay-flat properties and can be printed with either UV screen print or flatbed industrial inkjet inks.

A printable kraft-based board, with excellent water and moisture hold-out for long-term indoor and short to medium-term outdoor applications.

Product construction

Product consists of bleached printable liner and inner kraft base. Specialised coatings and exceptional internal-fibre properties ensures optimum outdoor performance when used in wet and humid conditions.

• Sheet dimension: 1580mm x 2100mm  and 760 x 1020mm (Supplied one ton per pallet for large format sheets and 25 sheets per pack for screenboard size.)

Attributes:

• Excellent water, condensate and moisture hold-out under varying conditions

• Retained rigidity under varying humidity conditions

• Good resistance-to-edge wicking

• Good print-ability, using UV printing systems

• Produced from approximately 92% recycled material and is 100% recyclable

• No wax or PE (polyethylene) in the manufacturing process, therefore 100% repulpable

Manufacture and testing

Useful life expectancy

The product carries an indoor useful life expectancy of up to four months when applied under normal vertical conditions.
