The environmental entrepreneurs at Xanita looked at bales of recycled paper waste and saw sustainable, green board material for environmentally friendly applications including:
• Tradeshow exhibits
• Retail and museum shelving and cases
• Office furniture, including desks, conference tables, filing cabinets and equipment stands
• Home furnishings, including tables, shelving, home entertainment units, bedroom suites, computer and office furniture
• Convertible furniture systems for small bedrooms, studio apartments, dormitory rooms, RVs and yachts
• Walls and lightweight bulkheads in residential, commercial and office buildings
• Signage for indoor and outdoor use
They even saw complete affordable, sustainable housing units.
And looking beyond all of that, they saw communities of innovators to add their visions to the creation of new products to better serve their clients and customers with a bigger impact and a smaller carbon footprint.
To make their vision a reality, they created Xanita, a privately owned, globally based manufacturer of a comprehensive range of environmentally friendly, cellulose fibre-based rigid boards and roll-goods – all made from post-consumer, recycled paper waste.
Since their launch in 2007, Xanita's products are now proudly distributed by a growing international network of master distributors and resellers based in 24 countries. Xanita's own sales offices are located in Cape Town, London, Stockholm, Atlanta and Brisbane.
Xanita's high strength-to-weight ratio, VOC-Free (volatile organic compound) rigid boards are designed to replace formaldehyde-based furniture and construction boards, typically including resin-bonded MDF and particle board. Xanita boards also replace non-renewable polymer-based rigid foam PVC, polypropylene, polystyrene and ABS sheeting used for internal advertising, display and construction applications.
Xanita's fully-repulpable, print-receptive paper roll-goods, manufactured in conjunction with raw material partner Mondi Packaging Group, replace non-renewable petrochemical-based polypropylene, PVC and other polyethylene-coated plastic or paper films, which typically end up being disposed as landfill after short-term campaign advertising.
Xanita products are increasingly specified by environmentally-focused interior and furniture design specialists and leading architects and advertising agencies. You'll find a mix of fit-for-purpose Xanita products in projects as diverse as life itself.
Xanita supports the concept of cradle-to-cradle manufacturing. Please read our company ethics statement here .
